Bible Review | NIV Scripture Journals

Scripture Journals are excellent tools for Bible study. Not only are they suitable for personal use but also for group studies. With their rising popularity these days, Scripture Journals have become widely available in different translations, sizes, and formats. Among the most recent addition to the growing number of selections is the NIV Scripture Journals. Produced by Biblica, it is currently available in a New Testament set with an Anglicised text.

The NIV Scripture Journals is composed of 19 booklets covering the 27 books of the New Testament. Each booklet measures 5.75” x 8.25” and is around half an inch thick. Like any other Bible journal available in the market today, these journals have the Biblical text on the left, and a lined sheet on the right, which allows you to write down your notes, prayers, and thoughts as your read along the Scripture.

The built and design of these journals are simple and minimalistic with a monotonous black and white color scheme. The pages are sewn and glued together, so you can be confident that it will endure constant use. The paper is also highly opaque with almost zero ghosting. I think that these aspects are very important especially that these journals are designed to be written in and used daily.

What I love most about these journals is the layout. I love that the pages have roomy margins on all sides and that the texts are properly laid out. Not only does this provide a nice writing space but also a seamless Bible reading experience. Each journal also has a concise introduction to each New Testament book and a 52-week Bible reading plan found at the latter pages. On the other hand, I find it rather odd that the whole set does not come in a slip case box.

What sets apart the NIV Scripture Journals from others is its very economical price. Upon checking online, it is most-likely the cheapest available. Christian retailer, 10 of Those UK, offers each journal for only £3.59 and a staggering price of £24.99 for the entire 19-book set. They are also offering each journal for £1 if you will buy 50 copies. This is a wonderful offer if you or your church is planning to launch group Bible studies.

Final thoughts

I love the NIV Scripture Journals set. In spite of the very affordable price tag, it is very commendable that the publisher didn’t compromise the quality. If you want to take your study of the Holy Scriptures to the next level or if you are interested in starting your Bible journaling journey, I highly recommend this for you.
